Smart Contractor
Backup Data Utility

The Backup Data utility makes a backup copy of your Smart Contractor database, job photos, and merge documents, and stores it in the location specified in the prompt for Select Backup Data Location.

The Backup Data utility can be run from the Backup Data menu option in the Utilities menu, or automatically, from the Exit form when you exit Smart Contractor.

When the Backup Data utility is run automatically from the exit form, it uses the backup data location that you specify in the Setup Backup form.

When the Backup Data utility runs, it stores a backup copy of the Smart Contractor data in a compressed ".zip" file in the backup data location specified.

The name of the your Smart Contractor data backup file is "SC (company name).zip", where (company name) is the name of the company that you entered in the prompt for Company Name in the Company Info form.

The Data Backup Utility form has these prompts:

Select Data Backup Location:

This is the location where Smart Contractor will be backed up to when you click the Backup button below, and when the backup is run automatically from the Exit form.

Browse:
Click the Browse button to browse for the data backup location.
Backup Job Site Photos:
Check this box to backup Smart Contractor job site photos. Depending on how many photos you have stored, this will take longer, and require more space in the backup file.
Backup:
Click the Backup button to backup the data to the location specified.

To restore Smart Contractor data from a backup copy, use the Restore From Backup utility.
