If you are not using CPM scheduling on a particular job (by selecting the "Not CPM Scheduling" option in the prompt for Schedule Model in the Edit Job form or the schedule setup form), you may need to re-schedule the dates for a number of items in a job. For example, if the foundation contractor shows up a week late, everything in the job will have to be pushed back a week. The program would do this automatically if the job is set to use CPM scheduling. But otherwise, you can still do this without having to change each job item individually.
To move all scheduled dates in a job, follow these steps:
Open Job |
Select a Job in the drop down list at the top of the Smart Contractor main window. |
Edit The Schedule |
Click on Schedule in the shortcut menu, then click on Edit Schedule to go to the Job Schedule entry form. |
Right-click on schedule |
Right-click (click the right mouse button) anywhere on the schedule grid (it doesn't matter where). This will display the Item Resource entry form. Half way down that form there are prompts for "Push Schedule Back ___ Days", "On: ______". |
Enter Push-Back Days |
Enter the number of days to move the schedule in the "Push Schedule Back ___ Days" prompt. If you want to move the schedule later, enter a positive number. If you want to move the schedule earlier, enter a negative number. |
Enter (Start) On Date |
Enter the first date of the schedule to move in the "Starting On: ______" prompt. The program will move all items for this job scheduled on or after this date. The scheduled items will be moved the number of days indicated in the previous prompt. |
Click OK |
Click OK. This will save the requested changes and display the schedule in the grid with the updated dates. |
Example: To move all job items scheduled on or after July 15 one week later, enter 7 in the "Push Schedule Back ___ Days" prompt, and enter 7/15/2005 in the "On: ______" prompt.
