Print Schedule Calendar

To print a Job Schedule in calendar format, click on Schedule in the shortcut menu, then click Print Schedule Calendar.

The Job Schedule Calendar lists the job schedule in calendar format - with one month per page. You can edit the job schedule in the Job Schedule entry form.

The calendar format schedule works well for jobs that do not have many items scheduled on each day. But as you will see, if there are more than a few items on each day, then the month will not fit on one page, and then it won't look so good. If that happens, you may want to use the Schedule Listing instead.

To make the best use of space, the calendar format schedule only includes days of the week on which work is scheduled. If you do not have the Schedule Work On Saturday or Schedule Work On Sunday options checked in the Job Options form, then Saturdays and Sundays will not appear on the calendar schedule.

Each day of the schedule calendar displays the name of the schedule item, followed by the name of the resource(s) that have been assigned to the item.

Items preceded by an asterix (*) are "critical path" items. See How Do I... Use CPM Scheduling? for more information about critical path scheduling.

The Print Schedule Calendar form has the following prompts:

Group By Phase:

Check this option to group scheduled items by job phase, as opposed to listing each item in the schedule. The job phase of job items is set in the Edit Estimate form.

For Resource:
If you select a resource, the schedule calendar will only include items scheduled for that resource. If you select "(All Resources)", the schedule will include all scheduled job items.
Hourly Labor Schedule:

Check this option to view an hourly labor schedule. The hourly labor schedule consists of job items that have estimated labor hours. The schedule labor items are sequenced by job phase first, and within job phase, by the order in which they appear in the Edit Estimate form. Their scheduled duration is the number of labor hours estimated.

Note: The hourly labor schedule will not necessarily be the same as the regular calendar schedule.

The hourly labor schedule is built by stacking the labor hours estimated for job items, starting at the Work Start Time set in the Schedule Setup tab in the Edit Job form.

Hourly labor schedule days are filled based on Schedule Work Hours Per Day, which is also set in the Schedule Setup tab in the Edit Job form.

If a scheduled labor item cannot be completed in a particular day, the decision as to whether that item should be started on that day, or shifted to the next day, is based on the value in the prompt for Completion Req. set in the Misc tab of the Edit Estimate form. By default, for Completion Req. is set to 50% for all items. This means that if an item cannot be at least 50% completed on the day on which it is started, then it should not be started until the next day.

If you don't want an item to start on a day unless it can be completely finished, then set the Completion Req. to 100%. If it is ok if less than 50% of the item is completed on the day on which it starts, then enter a Completion Req. less than 50%.
