Resource Entry Form


To open the Resource entry form, click on Setup in the shortcut menu, then click Lists, then click Resource.

The Resource entry form allows you to create a list of Resources.

A Resource entry can be a single employee, or a group of employees (a crew), a piece of equipment, a subcontractor, or a vendor. Each of the following are examples of Resources:

Resources are used in scheduling job items. To schedule a job item, you check the prompt for Scheduled Item, and then select one or more Resources, in the Edit Job Estimate form.

A resource can be scheduled to work on more than one job on a particular date, but if you do, the program will flag this as a conflict (displayed with a "C" on that date in the Edit Schedule form).

You can right click on days flagged with a conflict to view information about the conflict, and to change the resource(s) assigned to the job item.

Aside from the standard prompts available on all forms, the Resource entry form has the following prompts:

Resource:

Enter the name of the Resource.

Short Name:

Enter an abbreviated name for the Resource. This is used in places (reports) where there is not enough room to display the full resource name.

Resource Type:

Select the resource type: Employee, Work Crew, Equipment, Subcontractor, or Vendor.

Note: You cannot create resource types. These are pre-defined in Smart Contractor and cannot be changed.

Email Address:

Enter the resource's email address.

Phone:

Enter the resource's phone number.

FAX:

Enter the resource's Fax number.

Mobile:

Enter the resource's mobile phone number.

QB Employee:

Check this option to have this employee written to QuickBooks.
