To open a different Smart Contractor database, select the Open Database option in the File Menu at the top left of the screen.
The Open Database menu option allows you to specify the Smart Contractor database folder. This may be necessary if you need to operate more than one company, and you want to keep the data for each company separate.
Note: You can only have one Smart Contractor database in each folder! If you need to use more than one Smart Contractor database, each of these must be stored in a separate folder.
It is also necessary to use the Open Database menu option to set Smart Contractor up to run on a network. For information on running Smart Contractor on a netork, see the How Do I... Run Smart Contractor On A Network topic.
The Open Database form has two "tabs", called Mapped Drive, and UNC. Use the Mapped Drive tab to select the database folder on your computer's "C:" drive, or on a "mapped" drive. Use the UNC tab to set the database folder on a network using a UNC path.
The Mapped Drive tab has the following prompts:

| Select folder in which the Smart Contractor database is located. |

| Click Cancel to cancel changes. |

| Enter the UNC path to the Smart Contractor database folder. |
